Christmas Notes

 For Christmas, I kept busy! 

My brother Jon got an extra-large, zigzag bulky afghan in a grey Puzzle acrylic--he snuggled in it immediately!

My brother Michael got a granny-square bulky throw in a variegated blue/red/grey Puzzle acrylic, with a grey scalloped border (grey from Jon's blanket). I wrapped it and mailed it to him and he sent me a video when he unwrapped it! He also snuggled in it immediately.

I love my family!! And I love making things for them.

For my coworkers (whom I also love!) I crocheted cotton scrubbies. Everybody got two, and a bar of handmade soap that I bought from my friend Elaine.

About 6 weeks ago, I went to the local Theatre Guild's prop/costume sale. I came away with a couple vintage aprons and some costume jewelry. They got my phone number. A couple weeks later, I got a phone call from Denise Plantenburg, their resident superhero. Could I make a dead body? They are doing Arsenic and Old Lace , one of my favorite movies that was a Broadway smash before it hit the big screen.  After a lot of Googling, I ended up with the proposal of wrapping a live body in duct tape, then stuffing it with rags, newspaper, and kitty litter for weight. Denise herself was my model, and a very good sport as I alternately suffocated her and mauled her extremities with a pair of dull scissors in a desperate attempt to get the mess off of her before she toppled over.  What then did I have? My rehearsal bag is an enormous tote, with lots of pockets inside and out. Not only does it hold my rehearsal gear, but it also holds my clothes during costume changes and my outerwear as well. What’s In My Rehearsal Bag? Mini Hand Sanitizer. Besides being used on your hands, you can squeeze hand sanitizer on to a tissue or a napkin and use it as a wipe to sanitize surfaces. A Packet of Tissues/Hankie. Don’t count on anything softer than toilet tissue to be available, and you don’t want to be sniffing all night long. Lip Balm, Travel Size Hand Lotion. If your lips or skin get chapped, it’s really distracting. Pencils/Pens, Sticky Notes and Tabs.
