It's Done!

That hateful, hateful zipper in the blaze-orange hunting suit is done! I handed it off to the man yesterday morning. I charged him $10, partly because my stitching, if sturdy, was not very pretty. My sewing machine was not of the caliber required. :/

Also because I had it more than a month.

But it's done!! That stinky eyesore is gone from my dwelling! And I don't think I'll do any more alterations. I have enough projects of my own. Next stop...an afghan for a friend. :)

About 6 weeks ago, I went to the local Theatre Guild's prop/costume sale. I came away with a couple vintage aprons and some costume jewelry. They got my phone number. A couple weeks later, I got a phone call from Denise Plantenburg, their resident superhero. Could I make a dead body? They are doing Arsenic and Old Lace , one of my favorite movies that was a Broadway smash before it hit the big screen.  After a lot of Googling, I ended up with the proposal of wrapping a live body in duct tape, then stuffing it with rags, newspaper, and kitty litter for weight. Me, Mine, and Nevermind

I am so vain. Look at me, getting a blog so I can show off my projects to anyone unfortunate enough to fall into my trap. Mwa-haha. :D Part of the reason I'm doing so many projects is because I think the aura of my sister-in-law remains in her old house. Lemme 'splain: My brother and sister-in-law owned this house in our hometown. They moved, my other older brother bought it, and I rent from him. And my room is Ruthanne's old sewing room . She wasn't just crafty. She was crafty and gooooood at it. Making-oven-mitts-that-look-like-rabbits-and-double-as-hand-puppets good.
